Teaching Artist — Fall 2026

Crescent City Stage is seeking experienced, playful, and inclusive Teaching Artists to join our growing youth theatre program this fall. We are building a skills-based, craft-focused program rooted in the same training principles that drive our professional work. We believe New Orleans deserves high quality acting training for young people, and we are looking for teachers who share that conviction.

We have a particular need for teachers comfortable working with younger students, PreK through 5th grade, for afterschool and Saturday classes.

We are looking for Teaching Artists to lead one or more of the following:

The Players / Ages 4-6 / PreK-K / Saturdays 10:00-11:00am
Play-based introduction to theatre through story, song, and character exploration.

The Ensemble / Ages 6-9 / 1st-3rd Grade / Weekday 4:15-5:30pm
Collaborative devised theatre class where students build an original show together.

The Company / Ages 9-12 / 4th-6th Grade / Weekday 4:30-6:00pm
Performance-based class working from existing source material toward a semester showcase.

The Storytellers / Ages 12-15 / 7th-9th Grade / Weekday 4:30-6:00pm
Scene study and monologue work rooted in serious craft training.

What we are looking for:
Teaching Artists who bring warmth, structure, and genuine love of the craft into the room. Experience teaching youth theatre is essential. Experience with devised work, ensemble building, or conservatory-style training is a plus. Musical theatre background is welcome but not required.
